The Timeline
In 1944, Albin Breitenmoser and Josef Fässler laid the foundation for a successful textile history in Appenzell. Still today, the alba group, to which weba Weberei Appenzell AG belongs, is an independent and healthy family business.
At the beginning, woven and embroidered handkerchiefs were produced and distributed worldwide. Later, weba specialized in the production of finest fabrics for shirts and blouses.
By focusing on textiles with additional functions such as “wrinkle-free” or “natural stretch”, weba was able to position itself as a successful, innovative company in the market segments "business”, “modern business” and “urban”.
In addition to the headquarters in Switzerland, which are responsible for design, marketing, sales and the production of luxury fabrics, a high-quality weaving mill is hold in Egypt since 2008.
With the weba Limitless collection, made of finest Merino wool, weba breaks new ground in innovation while setting standards for natural, sustainable functionality and comfort.
